FIFA U-20 World Cup 2027 in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan: planning team travel

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan will host 24 national teams from 17 September to 9 October 2027. What can federations and their travel agencies plan now?

FIFA has confirmed the dates of the 2027 men’s U-20 World Cup. For a delegation travelling with a squad, the tournament window gives the travel manager a starting point for supplier enquiries. Match dates, stadium assignments and the cities on a particular team’s itinerary still need separate confirmation.

What to include in a delegation brief

Give prospective hotels a range for the number of players and staff, the expected equipment load and the hours when the squad may need meals. Ask hotels to price early arrivals, private dining and kit storage separately. An appointed sports agency can then compare offers even while its federation is waiting for the draw and fixture details.

Planning the Azerbaijan leg

Use the Azerbaijan destination guide to scope local support. If the delegation is considering travel through the capital, the Baku guide can help assess transfers and accommodation. Keep any onward journey provisional until the team receives its itinerary. For travel between the two countries, agree which local operator takes responsibility for equipment and passengers at each handover.

Requesting local operations support

PARAMOUNT is an Azerbaijan-based MICE and destination management company. Its portfolio gives procurement teams examples of group programmes, and its MICE services cover local supplier coordination. To request a comparable quote, send the delegation brief with passenger ranges, tentative dates and the deadline for releasing hotel and transport options.
